- Subject: Problem with Trumpet Winsock & nameserver
-
- For some reason, no matter what address I use in any
- client program, if it's not in the HOSTS file, I can't
- get to it. All of the addresses in the HOSTS file
- are okay. I have to nameservers in my tcpman config,
- and they are genuine nameservers. But any nameserver
- query just bounces between them for a while.
-
- Could it be something on my end?

- This is the README for the windows version of Elm.
-
- First... This is a trial release so that people can have some email
- facility. It has bugs and things that don't quite work. I will be
- releasing better versions later but currently I want to get it on
- the streets..
-
- 12-May-93 Initial release.

-
- Note.
-
- If you havn't got ELM-PC already you should install that first since
- it create directories and has some of the files that you need. It can
- be found in /pub/elm-pc as elmpc.zip on lister.cc.ic.ac.uk You also might
- want to get the MIME support programs in /pub/winmime.
-
-
-
- There are two main programs.
- ----------------------------
-
- WINELM.EXE - The main program.
-
- WSPOOLD.EXE - The mail transport.
-
-
- Extra command line options are...
-
- -u user - specify who you are on the command line.
-
- the wspoold also allows
-
- -p password - if you want to risk it.
-
- -h homedir - you 'home' directory.
-
- -s server - the name of you pop3 server.
-
- Files and Directories.
- ----------------------
-
- winelm and the spooler use several directories. Normally you would
- have....
-
- \elm
- \elm\user
- \elm\user\folders
- \elm\bin
- \elm\tmp
-
- the spooling adds
- \elm\user\spool
